Pippi Longstocking
Sarah and her Girl Scout Troop did a Thinking Day project about Sweden. The woman who wrote the Pippi Longstocking series was from Sweden. We toyed with the idea of doing all the girls' hair like this, but the time necessary would have outweighed our patience.

Swim Sarah Swim!
Sarah had her first swim meet with Lifetime during our Jamaica trip. She place first in the 11+ 50M backstroke and fourth in the 11+ 50M freestyle. Her freestyle relay team also won first! She was so happy, and we are so proud - even though we missed it. : (
Jamaica Me Crazy!
Mark and I traveled to Montego Bay, Jamaica, to watch my elementary school girl friend get married AND to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We honeymooned in Jamaica 15 years ago so it was a special treat to get to return. Cynnamon came back to watch the kids.
The ceremony site.
31 people in the party!
These fun photos are by my friend Sarah's husband - Daniel Soderstrom. He's a fantastic portrait/wedding photographer in the Twin Cities!
Friends since elementary school!
The view from our room.
Missed these cuties. Yeah mon!

American Girl 2014
Sarah's friend, Grace, celebrates her birthday each year with a trip to the American Girl store in Dallas. We've tagged along for the past two years, staying in the Galleria hotel with Grace and her mom. It's a treasured time and experience for all of us.
The hotel has an American Girl package that gives each girl a bed for her doll (that she gets to keep) and cupcakes and milk before bed. I think they have seven dolls between them now, so the rest sleep on the window seat!

Ethan and the Bee
Ethan won his class spelling bee and got to represent his class in the school spelling bee. He was in the front row, so it was great for pics! He got his practice word: FAKE and aced it.
Then during the first round, he got his real word: PLANET. He spelled it: P - L - A - N - T ... E. Wrong. According to spelling bee rules, once you say a letter out loud, you can't take it back. As soon as he said the "T", he knew he forgot the "E", but since he couldn't go back, he added it on to the end. Poor guy. He was the first one out.
Still a handsome good sport though.
