Jacob's interest in aviation hasn't waned, so for his birthday we gave him a day of Aviation Camp though Greatest Generation Aircraft out of Fort Worth. He toured some military aircraft, two flight museums, the air traffic control tower, and was supposed to take a flight in a restored WWII C-47 aircraft. He got to do all but fly that day because the cross winds were too strong. Stay tuned for the make-up date sometime this fall.

Cub Scout Day Camp 2014
Jacob and I volunteered at the Cub Scouts of the Round Table Day Camp again this summer. Nothing like 95+ degree heat, dusty and dirty fields, and grasshoppers jumping with every step. Lucas and Ethan were campers again and loved every minute of it.
They made shields, swords, leather books and pouches, tunics, and felt hats during the week.
One of the best activities was the dad-powered jousting! As the dads jogged around a course, the boys rode on a tarp wrapped around two sturdy poles and tried to get their jousting stick through the loops hanging from the trees.
Of course, they both loved BB guns and archery. This year was much easier - if you remember - Lucas has his arm in a cast for day camp last year!

Summer Fun
We were able to catch a show by Dinosaur George at the Lewisville Public Library. I met Dinosaur George at a PTA convention years ago and we had him come to our school in SA. He's based there, so it was especially fun to see his show in our new locale AND have him recognize me! Super fun guy and great show for all ages.
We did a little shopping. Lucas picked out a few things.

Last Day of School
Ethan with his teachers - Mrs. Gustafson ...
and Mrs. Kraft.
Missed a pic with Lucas' teachers but caught him at the party carrying cotton balls with chopsticks!
It was another great year at this school. So happy that my kids had an easy transition from San Antonio to Flower Mound.

Sarah joins swim team ... sort of.
I've been bugging Sarah about what she wants to do this summer besides FaceTime her friends and watch TV. She finally declared enough interest in the neighborhood swim team that I checked it out, and of course, registration had closed two weeks prior. No spots left. Then we found out that LifeTime has a year-round swim team, so we had her try out for that. The person who tested her said she was good enough to make the team, but that she might benefit from the Swim Team prep class that they offered instead. 2x week, 45 minutes, training, building endurance and no meets. Sarah thought that would be a good place to start. So here we go!

Jacob's birthday weekend
Jacob became a teenager this weekend. We went to a Frisco Rough Riders baseball game, to Texas Road House for dinner and a saddle ride, and had some friends over for a Memorial Day BBQ.
Sarah took most of the pictures on this day - except for the one she was in. She's pretty good with a camera!

Jag Mile 2014
The Jag Mile is a fundraiser for the high school's cross country team. They invite elementary kids from all the FMHS feeder schools for a run around the HS track. It was great fun and lots of kids from our school attended. Loud music, running through the blow-up Jaguar head, ribbons, free shirts and popsicles!
Ethan
Sarah - who actually ran the whole way. I was very proud of her considering all her issues with fatigue and endurance.
The kids went grade by grade. Here's Lucas about to get lapped by the girl who one the first grade race. She was incredibly fast and finished before Lucas even finished three laps. He may have skipped the last one entirely. I lost track.

Spanish Lesson
Just casually checking Lucas' homework. Had to send a pic to Mark ... just in case there was any doubt. LOL!
